Bio

Sarah Garvey (she/her) is the Program Manager for the Global Nitrogen Innovation Center for Clean Energy and the Environment (NICCEE). NICCEE leverages use-inspired and data-driven approaches to understand the impacts of green ammonia on climate change and the environment, as well as to support sustainable N management.

Sarah received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and earned her Ph.D. with the Hutyra Terrestrial Carbon Lab at Boston University in 2023 . Her previous research combined lab, field and analytical work to investigate the effects of urbanization and forest fragmentation on soils and the carbon cycle. Prior to her graduate work, she studied rangeland soil carbon storage with the MacArthur Agro-Ecology Research Center at Archbold Biological Station. Outside of her passion for actionable climate science, Sarah is an avid artist and baker.
