This past weekend, several HPL-ers participated in the Main Street Mile, part of the Cambridge Main Street Summer Send Off. The event is a four-person “triathlon,” with the swim consisting of a run down the street wearing snorkel fins and mask, the bike event is on a tricycle and the run includes an egg being balanced on a spoon.
Horn Point entered two teams into the nine-team field, Pedro’s Pride, featuring Jeremy Testa, Cassie Gurbisz, Chris Markin, and Brianne Walsh; and Young, Brilliant and Fabulous, with the skills of Cindy Palinkas, Nick Nidzieko, Alyson Santoro, and Byron Crump.
Both Horn Point teams competed against each other in the second heat, and Pedro’s Pride was victorious and went on to the finals to win the entire event. In addition to winning team medals, Pedro’s Pride chose the local Care and Share Fund for their $100 winners’ donation.
