Student interns presented their summer research in marine and environmental technology at the Student Research Day held at UMCES-IMET on Friday, August 5.
This year was the tenth year the internship program has operated. The summer internship program is one of several opportunities offered by the NOAA-EPP funded Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC), lead institution UMES. Dr. Rosemary Jagus directs the program at UMCES-IMET. The 2011 summer interns ranged from rising freshman to seniors in high school to college students and came from schools including, UMES, UMBC, Morgan State University, Delaware State University and the University of Miami.
The LMRCSC represents a partnership with several minority serving institutions. Recently, the LMRCSC partners were awarded another five years of funding.
