Bio

I am a marine biologist specialized in ecological restoration of marine habitat and shellfish restorative aquaculture. During my PhD I have designed and built a small-scale restoration hatchery at the Institute of Marine Sciences of Portsmouth (UK) and managed the production of European native oyster spat-on-shell for restoration in the Solent. I have over ten years' experience in marine ecological restoration, working on different restoration projects (oyster reefs, vermetid reefs, seagrass meadows). Some of my most recent work experiences also involved nutrient pollution and nitrogen remediation, as well as microplastic pollution.
