Two esteemed scientists from the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science will join the Saturday, Oct. 28 panel discussions at the Chesapeake Film Festival, which runs Oct. 27-29. UMCES is also one of the event sponsors.
Don Boesch, professor and university president from 1990-2017, joins Benjamin H. Grumbles, Maryland State Secretary of the Environment for the first panel. Following a 12:15 p.m. screening of the film "Before the Flood," this panel will look at how climate change affects our environment and what society can do to prevent the demise of endangered species, ecosystems and native communities globally. Stuart Clarke, executive director of Town Creek Foundation, will moderate. This panel begins at 1:45 p.m.
Both panels will take place at The Avalon Theater, 40 East Dover Street, in Easton.
