Joseph Edgerton

Bio
Joseph Edgerton is an assistant science communicator for the Integration and Application Network (IAN) within the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. In 2019, Joe graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) with a B.S. in biology. At OSU, he worked as an undergraduate researcher within OSU’s Department of Botany and Plant Pathology looking into biocontrols for bacterial plant pathogens.
After undergrad, he became increasing interested in data visualization. He started at UMCES as an IAN intern designing science communication products.
In his hometown of Tigard, Oregon, Joe enjoys volunteering at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, observing flora, and having “decent” hacky sack skills.
