Bio
Dr. Mike Wilberg is a fisheries science Professor at Chesapeake Biological Laboratory at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science in Solomons, MD. He has been at CBL since 2006 working on understanding population dynamics and management of a range of fish and shellfish species, including oysters, blue crabs, American eel, paddlefish, and summer flounder. Before that he completed his Ph.D. and post doc at Michigan State University on improving and testing stock assessment approaches and evaluating management strategies for yellow perch in Lake Michigan. He completed an M.S. in Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University.
