Emily Jolly is a Ph.D. student working in the lab of Dr. Allen Place at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology. She is interested in the metabolic processes that may have an impact on the breakdown of the cnidarian-algal symbiosis. Her focus is on photosynthetic processes in Symbiodiniaceae and how they might relate to toxin production under different environmental conditions. Emily won the University of Maryland Dean’s Fellowship for the 2022-2023 school year.
