Dr. Harvey teamed-up with Dr. Mike Sigler to highlight the 2009 fieldwork season of the BEST-BSIERP Bering Sea Project, the most comprehensive investigation of the Bering Sea ecosystem to date.
The program's extensive fieldwork and ecosystem modeling will link climate, physical and biological oceanography, lower and upper trophic level organisms, and economic outcomes in an attempt to predict the impacts of climatic change on the Bering Sea ecosystem.
The program has been made possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of nearly one hundred principal investigators working within a partnership between the North Pacific Research Board and the National Science Foundation.
